Professional 600x CompactFlash Memory Card Released by Lexar

 One of the leading global providers of memory products for digital media, Lexar Media, revealed the fact that it will introduce a new memory card, the Lexar® Professional 600x CompactFlash® (CF) card, which provides enhanced speed and performance for professional photographers and advanced photo enthusiasts who capture high-definition images and videos on digital SLRs. If paired with a UDMA 6 enabled device the new Lexar Professional 600x CF memory card will sustain a speed and performance of a guaranteed minimum write speed capability of 600x (90MB/s). Another addition is the fact that the Lexar Professional 600x CF memory card increases workflow with minimum sustained read speeds of 533x (80MB/s), and even faster when paired with a UDMA 6-enabled reader like the new Lexar Professional ExpressCard™ CompactFlash Reader. The Lexar Professional 600x CF card which can be found in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities, will significantly improve in-camera performance because can rapidly clear a camera’s buffer and can make fast cameras even faster for photographers to keep shooting. In addition, shooters can focus on the business of photography thanks to the increased image transfer speeds from card-to-computer which will help reduce post-production time.

When shooting with newer cameras like the Canon EOS 7D, Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Nikon D3x or Nikon D300S, professionals can capture more images per second and hundreds of JPEG files without pausing to clear their cameras’ buffers.”
The Lexar Professional 600x CF card will improve the digital imaging workflow by accelerating the download of captured images to a desired computer if is paired with the new Lexar Professional ExpressCard CompactFlash reader. The Lexar Professional ExpressCard CompactFlash reader which was designed for photographers on the go, is a portable, high-performance reader which doesn't require any cables and connects directly to a PC or Mac® laptop computer’s ExpressCard slot. Supporting read/write speeds up to 133MB/s (886x), the durable reader works with all UDMA and non-UDMA CompactFlash cards.
Rob Galbraith declared in a story published on his website: “With the introduction of the Professional 600x line, Lexar is - for the first time in several years - producing a CompactFlash series for working photographers that provides class-leading read and write speeds.” He continued: “In our test of the 600x 16GB card, it came out on top in several of the most popular digital SLRs - including the Canon EOS 7D - plus turned in the fastest card-to-computer transfer rates in FireWire 800 reader testing on the Mac and ExpressCard adapter testing in Windows.”
