 Sony has announced the 10 megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-T500 with high definition video recording. The new Sony Cyber-shot is able to record crisp, clear 720p (1280×720 pixels) HD movie clips with stereo sound at 30 frames per second, based on ‘PC-friendly’ MPEG4 AVC/H.264 codec for video compression and stereo audio. The T500 is an ultra-compact camera with a 3.5 inch touch screen LCD for easy navigation, framing and viewing in strong light conditions, optical image stabilization, face detection detecting up to eight faces in the camera frame and adjusts focus, exposure and flash, and it has a Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lens with a wide field of view (33 – 165 mm, 35 mm equivalency). Also included is a dual photo and video capture mode which allows still images to be taken while recording a video.
It can hold hours of clips by expanding the camera’s capacity with a Memory Stick media card (up to 16 GB).The T500 camera connects to a compatible HD television via an HDMI cable .Photos and videos can be enjoyed as slide shows in high definition for a cinematic experience.The Sony DSC-T500 is supplied with Picture Motion Browser software for easy organizing and viewing of images. The new Sony Cyber-shot T500 is expected to hit the market by late September for about $400.
