iPod Nano Notes

How to send notes to your iPod Nano?

iPod Nano Notes can be made in a very simple way. If you use Windows, create a new file with the .txt extension. Right-click on desktop, select [New]-[Text Document]. Now write down a title for your iPod Nano note and paste the desired text in it. Connect your iPod Nano to the PC, and open iTunes (if it does not start automatically). Click on your iPod's name in the left window to see its properties, and look to the bottom at [Enable Disk Use] (be sure the Summary tab is the one open). To be able to copy the note on your iPod Nano the square before the [Enable Disk Use] must be checked. After you [Enabled the disk use] copy the text file from your desktop (with right-click and Copy command) and go to [My Computer] and access the removable drive associated with your iPod. Go to the [Notes] folder and paste the document here.

If you want to view the note on your iPod select the [Extras] menu and choose [Notes]. Remember, after you disconnected the iPod and selected the Notes section of your iPod, you have to wait a few seconds for them to load. Don't be scared if at start you don't see anything in there.

Ipod Nano Notes to large?

If you have a big chunk of text you'll see that only the first 4 kilobytes (KB) of text, (around 4096 characters) are displayed. This is the maximum size of a iPod note. If can make your iPod Nano Notes shorter, or you can split the book in many volumes. To do so you can use a free tool for the iPod Nano notes, named iPod Ebook Creator. The online script will split your text file.
